Monday

Hobbystreak day 548 (Monday 1 July 2024).

None of the models on my desk excite me so I built an Ork boy. One of the “new” single pose ones that are now somehow years old and I’ve never made one before. I like them, but their monopose nature will always be a problem for Orks. They really should have been in a starter box. Still, when it comes to the next 10 it’ll be time for some proper Orky kitbashing and conversions.

Grabbed the Dread from the Leviathan box that’s been sittting built on my shelf for months and gave it a good airbrushing green with Vallejo Dark Green. Still contemplating Dark Angels colours and I think that I’ve probably been painting them too dark before so that they just don’t stand out on the table. Don’t want to edge highlight them because I don’t like that look, they especially start to look a bit Tron like, so I’m not contemplating which green to give it a zenithal highlight with so that I can call that my new quick and easy armour colour scheme.

Tuesday

Hobbystreak day 549 (Tuesday 2 July 2024).

Having an Ork Boy on my painting desk makes me feel good. They were my first love and I’ve really not touched them that much recently because of it. I should rectify that.

I’ve also been contemplating Combat Patrol. I’ll be getting the Partwork of course because I never learn and going over to Warhammer Community I notice that there are currently 34 Combat Patrols available rules wise. The boxes may be gone (or never existed in some cases) but the rules survive. I was planning on painting up the partwork as a kind of tasting menu for all the factions in the game I’ve never really touched before but I have the models for more than a couple of them already it seems.

Wednesday

Hobbystreak day 550 (Wednesday 3 July 2024).

Put some metals on the Ork Boy and did some work on the site.

Thursday

Hobbystreak day 551 (Thursday 4 July 2024).

Orky work today.

Friday

Hobbystreak day 552 (Friday 5 July 2024).

Some paints arrived and I spent some time trying to decide on a paint scheme for my not-epic Blood Angels army.

Saturday

Hobbystreak day 553 (Saturday 6 July 2024).

Was tidying up and came across a Sisters of Battle model that I felt like building to try out a paint scheme. I think their armour really suits being white and that’ll make a change.

The in progress pile grows with no models being finished.

Sunday

Hobbystreak day 554 (Sunday 7 July 2024).

I’m definitely feeling more in a 40k mood at the moment so did some more of the Ork and Sister.
