Monday

Hobbystreak day 149.

Another Bank Holiday Monday. That’s 3 this month so far and I approve. Let’s do this every month.

Can I finish a model today? How about The Clampetts Bally Hoo Bucket , that sounds like a good plan.

I also did a bunch more site work. Linking to individual malifaux model pages works better (and in fact works again) and I need something similar for other lines.

Tuesday

Hobbystream day 150.

OK, didn’t quite finish it but nearly there. I need to consider basing as unlike the other factions just putting them all on the same style bases feels wrong. I would do full on swamp bases but when models get shared between keywords I think that looks a bit odd.

In the end The Clampetts Batty Hoo Bucket feels like a bit of a disappointing sculpt after having painted it. The boat is too small, the front wheels don’t feel right and it just feels a bit like a wasted opportunity.

Day 150 finds me with 71 painted models, which is 4 short of doing a model every 2 days. That’s not a bad rate of painting considering I’m not spending hours per day doing it.

I was catching up on my model photography as I was way behind and I’ve decided my green skin colour isn’t contrasty enough as it comes out very flat in pictures. I’m experimenting now with Pro-Acryl Dark Yellow Green to GW Orruk Green with Pro-Acryl Bright Yellow Green as the final highlight.

Wednesday

Hobbystreak day 151.

Things are getting busy again, so not much progress. Working on Judd & Honey and it’s basically all metal or wood so blocked in some brown.

Thursday

Hobbystreak day 152.

Added some coppers and and steels to the gun.

Friday

Hobbystreak day 153.

Primed the Stormcast chariot from Stormbringer gold, because why not and the weather was nice.

Saturday

Hobbystreak day 154.

Blocked in a lot of Judd with some purple and grays. Painted his skin Pro-Acryl Dark Yellow Green.

Sunday

Hobbystreak day 155.

Tried highlighting the purple and messed it up, so I’ll repaint that tomorrow. Touched up some bits on Honey that I had missed and started on the fire on the torch he uses for lighting it. Still very busy. I should have got this finished this week, but far too many distractions.
